A Conversation with a Homeless Born Again Christian!

I was rollerblading to my neighborhood grocery store when I encountered a gentleman holding up a sign asking for money. I handed him a $5 bill and he was most grateful. This man had a wonderful energy about him. Not quite the energy one would expect from a man holding up a sign asking for money. It turned out that this man was a Leo (sun sign in astrology). I told him that Leo's are all about money. Leo's tend to attract abundance easier than most of the astrological sun signs.

One thing led to another and before I knew it this man was yelling out that he was a born again Christian awaiting his afterlife in heaven. He seemed so excited about heaven and so I didn't wish to rain on his parade by giving him my full opinion on the matter. I just kindly asked him...what about now? What about your present state of being? Isn't that important?

Well, yes, he agreed that right now is kind of important, but the afterlife is much more important. The conversation soon became a very gentle debate. I say gentle because I have to be careful what I say to religious (fanatical) Christians. I don't wish to be judgmental or critical. But I do have a very different view on life. I'm not much into waiting for the afterlife. I like to live now... in the moment. Most of us are either stuck in the past or stuck in the future. If you are not living in the moment.... well, I hate to say it but you are missing out on your life!

I believe that our thoughts create our reality and that if we wait to be saved by God (Jesus or whoever) it will probably never happen, because in reality we really do need to save ourselves. I actually wrote a whole article about this a while back. I was trying to carefully convey this message to the homeless born again Christian. But as I got deeper and deeper into it, this man seemed to become agitated and started to talk over me...and really not allow me to talk at all.

He became very animated as he spoke about war, bombs, chaos, destruction and how things are only going to get worse. I said that perhaps things will get worse for some and better for others... a dichotomy if you will. "No", he proclaimed, "Things are only going to get worse for everyone." I wanted to say that perhaps there needs to be destruction and chaos before things can get better in this world. But he didn't want to hear me. We finally parted ways only to re-meet outside of the grocery store.

This man was eating a sandwich. He thanked me for it, as the money I gave him had paid for this sandwich. So I reluctantly brought up the topic of revelations and how a group of people are supposed to be raptured away. I told him that I have raptured myself out of the system. He said that's not possible and that only God can rapture us. He is waiting patiently for that day. I said it's much better not to wait and just choose to rapture yourself. He got worried. He thought by rapture that I meant I was going to commit suicide. "Oh no", I exclaimed. That is not what I meant at all. But it would take a while to explain what I'm talking about. I decided not to waste my energy because this man would never understand what I'm speaking of anyway. A fifth dimensional being will always be misunderstood or ignored by a 3rd dimensional being.

This man started telling me about Moses in the bible and how God gave him a really important job/ purpose. He went on to say that God chooses only a select few to have an important purpose like Moses. Others are chosen for lesser purposes. I told him, "Perhaps we all have a divine purpose and it's our duty to figure out just what that is." The man said, "Ok" and the conversation ended and I rollerbladed away.

After thoughts... Why wait for heaven? Why wait to be raptured? Why wait to be saved? Create your reality now! Create heaven on earth now! Rapture yourself out of negativity now! Don't wait to be saved... Take responsibility for your own life. Save yourself! Perhaps God does only choose a select few to work through. I believe God (the divine spirit) works through everyone. You do not have to wait to be chosen. You can choose to be chosen. You are the chosen one... if you choose to be! Your thoughts create your reality.

This man is homeless on the street with a sign begging for money. Do you think God is going to rescue him soon from his lowly existence? Do you think God helps those who don't help themselves? Even if God came out of the sky to save this man from his current state of being he probably wouldn't notice. Even if God came by on rollerblades with a $5 bill and an important message this man probably wouldn't hear it. You know why? Because he is not living in the moment. He is living in the future. He is waiting on a God from the bible to rapture him to heaven..., not understanding that God is in everyone and everything. God works through us. God works in mysterious ways.

Final thought... There is a story. You may have heard it before...but here it goes...

"A fellow was stuck on his rooftop in a flood. He was praying to God for help.

Soon a man in a rowboat came by and the fellow shouted to the man on the roof, "Jump in, I can save you."

The stranded fellow shouted back, "No, it's OK, I'm praying to God and he is going to save me."

So the rowboat went on.

Then a motorboat came by. "The fellow in the motorboat shouted, "Jump in, I can save you."

To this the stranded man said, "No thanks, I'm praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith."

So the motorboat went on.

Then a helicopter came by and the pilot shouted down, "Grab this rope and I will lift you to safety."

To this the stranded man again replied, "No thanks, I'm praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith."

So the helicopter reluctantly flew away.

Soon the water rose above the rooftop and the man drowned. He went to Heaven. He finally got his chance to discuss this whole situation with God, at which point he exclaimed, "I had faith in you but you didn't save me, you let me drown. I don't understand why!"

To this God replied, "I sent you a rowboat and a motorboat and a helicopter, what more did you expect?"
